The Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) in collaboration with the Social Security System (SSS) Tuguegarao Branch, conducted a comprehensive orientation session on SSS membership and benefits among job order employees and voluntary members last February 2, 2024 at the Audio-Visual Room, 3rd Floor, MTWD Building.The SSS Representatives and expert resource persons, Ms. Jennivie B. Tollo, OIC-Accounts Management Section and Ms. Ma. Ana Kristina C. Mabborang, Junior Account Officer, gave in-depth discussions on the crucial aspects of SSS membership, including retirement, disability, sickness, maternity, and death benefits.
Ms. Tollo also introduced the SSS new programs including consoloan, retirement savings programs (WISP and WISP Plus), latest updates on benefits, Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) and upgrading of UMID ATM Paycard. Participants have also gained insights on the importance of on-time payment of contributions and the role of the SSS in providing financial assistance during critical life events.
Following the discussion, a question and answer portion was held where participants had the opportunity to seek clarification on specific queries related to their SSS membership and benefits. SSS representatives provided detailed responses, ensuring that participants had clear understanding of their social security rights and responsibilities.
One of the highlights of the event was the onsite enrollment/registration conducted by SSS Tuguegarao representatives. This allowed participants to immediately apply for SSS membership and request for updating memberโ€™s data.
Ms. Jocelyn B. De Jesus, Department Manager A, commended the participants for their active participation and emphasized the importance of being well-informed about the benefits provided by the SSS. She also acknowledged the initiative undertaken by the Human Resource Division and the support of the Management through the leadership of General Manager Engr. Miller C. Tanguilan, CESE to ensure social security protection and access to benefits among job order employees and voluntary members.
The collaboration between MTWD and SSS Tuguegarao showcased the commitment of both agencies in reaching out to various sectors of the workforce and is expected to pave the way for more similar initiatives in the future, ensuring that every eligible individual has the opportunity to secure their financial future through the SSS.
