The Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) joins the world in the celebration of the World Water Day which will be held on March 22, 2022 with the theme “Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible.” as directed by the Local Water Utilities Administration

Said theme aims to inspire action towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. MTWD’s World Water Day Committee has planned and organized a motorcade activity to create more impact which involves the employees of the District. The main activity conducted was Watershed Conservation Program particularly tree planting activity which was conducted at Pinacanauan River Bank, Pianacanauan De Tuguegarao Avenue, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The MTWD has also solicited support from other agencies through hanging of advocacy banner of the World Water Day celebration in their respective Offices. The tarpaulin layout was from the Local Water Utilities Administration and was given to all the local water districts in the country.

 The continuous support of other agencies including the people in the locality has proven invaluable not only to the District but most especially to the communities we live in. Indeed, they are our partners in upholding the mandate not only of the District but also of the United Nations in helping promote water conservation.
