True to its commitment in serving the nature, the Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) conducts potting, planting and weeding in its watershed area in order to maintain its magnificent growing trees. It is done twice a year, among others, in the observance of the World Water Day.

On March 3, 2018, the MTWD employees during the first batch of the tree planting activity conducted the Watershed Conservation Program at San Roque, Peñablanca, Cagayan.  The participants left for Peñablanca at 5:30 in the morning. The employees were able to plant 251 seedlings at the location site.

Planting, potting and weeding have become a culture of the employees of MTWD. Tree planting is one of the corporate social responsibilities of employees of the District which is conducted twice a year not only because of its observance in celebrating the World Water Day but because they consider it as a moral obligation of everyone in serving the Mother Earth. This commitment of the employees of the MTWD is shown through its complete attendance every time said activities are conducted.

A total of 42 employees participated in the watershed conservation program.

The World Water Day Celebration of the MTWD was realized with meaningful activities that are true to this year’s objective of generating more attention and impact in disseminating the importance of water as well as to water suppliers like the local water districts.
