MTWD employees participated in the weeklong seminar series entitled “PAHAYAG: A Masterclass Seminar Series on February 17-21, 2025 held at the NCPAG Assembly Hall and Student Union Building in UP Diliman, Quezon City. This activity was hosted by the University of the PhilippinesNational College of Public Administration and Governance (UP NCPAG) in partnership with the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines and the Philippine Society for Public Administration which is ushered in this year’s Public Administration Week celebration with the inaugural launch of PAhayag Master Class Seminar Series.

The seminar series aims to provide the participants with knowledge on the latest methods and trends in public administration and governance education as well as its application in the practice of public administration.

Dr. Kristoffer Berse, Dean of the UP NCPAG, in his opening message discussed the power of every individual to express their insights to social issues and derive meaning from them by illuminating their significance. His message made resurgence and motivation in the minds of the participants as they navigate the landscape of public administration, education and research with competence and integrity.

One of the highlights of the masterclass is the simulation of application of negotiation games in solving complex problems. This activity gauged participants’ core skill and knowledge in designing a negotiation game in relation to arriving at consensus and insights in establishing actions and crafting sound public policies. Learning visits to model cities in Metro Manila particularly Makati City has also made the masterclass experience of the MTWD participants more meaningful. The City shared strategies in disaster preparedness and urban resilience, emphasizing their role as a model city in disaster risk management.
