poster 3Young artist CEEJAY M. PALOMA of Cagayan National High School gave the best interpretation of the theme during the on-the-spot Poster Making Contest. The said event was held on March 8, 2017 at MTWD Main Building as part of the 2017 World Water Day celebration.

With the theme “Water and Waste Water”, the activity aims to instill the significance of water conservation to the younger generation. This activity was participated by eighteen (18) Batang Water Wais from different schools within Tuguegarao City and neighbouring municipalities like Solana and Piat.

Outputs from the said contest were judged by MTWD Division Managers and two (2) other participants were adjudged second and third placer. They are MIA KRYSTEL P. SOMERA and HANNAH JESSICA M. LABUGUIN, both from Sampaguita National High School, respectively. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners on the same day. Five Thousand Pesos (P 5,000) for the 1st placer, Three Thousand Pesos (P 3,000) for the 2nd placer, Two Thousand Pesos (P 2,000) for the 3rd placer and a consolation prize of Five Hundred Pesos (P 500) to other participants.

Paloma’s drawing raised the current issue on wasted waters and some of its causes. His piece portrayed waste waters undergoing the process of filtration and becoming clean water. He also included the role of MTWD as distributor of potable water for different consumption of its consumers.

“At a first glance you can already see the message of the given theme in his output and it’s very unique”, shared Ms Jocelyn De Jesus, Finance Division Manager, referring to Paloma’s piece.
