MTWD celebrated its 47th founding anniversary on August 1, 2025, highlighting its continued resilience, excellence, and unwavering dedication to public service.
The celebration commenced with a Eucharistic Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Franklin P. Manibog, held at the MTWD Function Hall. This was followed by a citywide motorcade that started from the MTWD grounds and passed through major streets, symbolizing the District’s lasting connection with the community it serves.

Simultaneous with the motorcade was the blessing and inauguration of new water facilities, also presided over by Rev. Fr. Manibog. The event was graced by Honorable City Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que, General Manager Engr. Miller C. Tanguilan, CESE, Assistant General Manager for Technical Services and Operations Engr. Janice R. Cardenas, Acting Department Manager Engr. Danjoe S. Valdez, and members of the Board of Directors Dir. Fausta L. Tanguilan, Dir. Teresita R. Rios, Dir. Lorna L. Dimalanta, and Dir. Albert G. Babaran. Other MTWD management and staff were also present. The blessing and inauguration of additional water facilities comprising the Ugac Sur Cylindrical Bolted Steel Tank and Booster Pumps, Namabbalan Norte Production Well 2, and Larion Bajo Production Well 3 stand as a testament to the District’s mission towards a sustainable future.

Moreover, series of activities were also prepared by designated committees during the anniversary program proper. The afternoon program honored the retiree, service awardees, the 2025 Best Employee, and winning teams from the recently concluded athletic and cultural competitions.
Mr. Dominador Taquiga was recognized upon his retirement, marking 33 years of dedicated service to MTWD. In his message of gratitude, General Manager Engr. Miller C. Tanguilan commended Mr. Taquiga’s patience and resilience throughout his tenure. He noted that Mr. Taquiga remains part of the MTWD family, having contributed significantly to the District’s success, particularly in ensuring water delivery to Solana concessionaires. GM Tanguilan also highlighted MTWD’s accomplishments from January to June 2025.
 
Employees who have rendered 10, 15, 20, and 35 years of service were also recognized and awarded plaques and incentives for their dedication and hard work.
The celebration became festive with performances from the Green Team (champion) and Blue Team (1st place), winners of the recently held cultural night. They showcased traditional Filipino dances such as Maglalatik, Sayaw sa Banga, Binasuan, and Tinikling. The Blue Team also emerged as the overall champion in the indoor and outdoor games, including traditional larong lahi.
 
Chairperson Dir. Teresita R. Rios, CPA, closed the celebration with affirming words, emphasizing the perseverance and commitment of every MTWD employee. She also highlighted the critical role each employee plays in realizing the organization’s vision and mission.
As MTWD enters its 48th year, the District reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community service. With the collective strength of its leadership and workforce, MTWD looks forward to continuing its mission of delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable water services thus, empowering communities today and for generations to come.
