Cagayan State University (CSU) interns recently participated in a workshop titled “Capacity Building: Equipping The Next Generation of Public Servants,” on April 05, 2024 at MTWD Audio Visual Room, 3RD Floor, MTWD Building, San Gabriel and was spearheaded by Ms. Jocelyn B. De Jesus, Department Manager of Human Resource, Administration and Finance.
The workshop aimed to elevate the wealth of capacity building and empower and equip interns with essential skills crucial for their future roles as efficient public servants.
A pretest was then conducted to gauge the interns’ prior knowledge of Microsoft Access- a database application. The core focus of the workshop is to understand the various functions of Microsoft Access and the significance of creating databases. The workshop was designed to highlight the pivotal role databases play in streamlining the operations of MTWD.
Interns were immersed in learning about database structures, data entry, retrieval, and management, aimed to meet the diverse office functions of the District. Ms. De Jesus emphasized the importance of meticulous data handling, highlighting the significance of reference numbers and reference date and the principle of “garbage in, garbage out.” She explained that the effectiveness of a database lies on the identification and analysis of its content, tailored to meet the specific needs of its users.
A key highlight of the workshop was the hands-on session on creating and customizing databases, specifically designed for re-opening forms of disconnected customers. Through hands-on workshop, interns gained firsthand experience in designing databases.
Overall, the workshop was a resounding success, equipping interns with invaluable skills and knowledge essential for their journey as future public servants.
