As part of the 2025 World Water Day celebration, the Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) organized a Digital Art Illustration Contest on March 21, 2025, at MTWD Building, Audio Visual Room, San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City. The contest was centered on the theme “Bayanihan sa Katubigan, Krisis sa Klima Labanan,” bringing together young artists from 17 schools across Tuguegarao, Solana, and Piat.
Using the Ibis Paint X app, 18 participating students created original digital artworks, translating their ideas into creative, engaging and unique visual pieces that emphasized the importance of unity in addressing water crisis.

After a thorough deliberation, Ms. Kate L. Jimenez of St. Paul University Philippines, Ms. Abigail P. Maggay of Andarayan National High School and Mr. Dylan Jade B. Salapo of Libag Integrated School emerged as the champion, first runner up and second runner up, respectively. They received a certificate of recognition, tokens and a cash prize while the rest of the participants received certificates, tokens and a consolation prize.
The contest highlighted not only the students’ artistic talents but also their awareness and commitment to water conservation. This is also a way of implementing initiatives to inspire youths to advocate sustainable water management through creative expression.
