Addressing the growing demand for water access in Tuguegarao City, Solana, and Piat, the Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) has intensified its efforts in expanding its infrastructure to cater to more customers-concessionaires. Amidst this endeavor, significant milestones have been achieved, with the recent completion of the installation of a 100mm diameter distribution line accompanied by a 50mm diameter public cluster meter stand along Domingo Barrera Road, Larion Bajo, Tuguegarao City.
The implementation of this project comes at a crucial time as the District grapples with the challenges posed by El Niño and the increasing applications for water supply. Since 2021, there has been a noticeable surge in demand within the area, prompting the District to heed calls for an extension of water lines even to locations far from the mainlines.
This latest initiative by MTWD involves the installation of nine sets of cluster stands, each accommodating a maximum of ten water meters per set. Additionally, efforts are underway to restore seven sets of 1-inch clustered meters.
The impact of this project extends beyond mere infrastructure development. The installation of the distribution line and clustered meters translate to improved access to clean water for residents of Larion Bajo. Especially advantageous for residents in remote areas, the extension of the mainlines alleviates the water supply challenges faced by consumers who had limited access to services.
The MTWD remains steadfast in its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers-concessionaires. Through proactive infrastructure enhancement projects like the installation of distribution lines and cluster meters, the District continues to pave the way for equitable access to essential services, ensuring inclusivity in the journey towards sustainable water service development.
