The Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) would like to express its profound gratitude to Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) for generously sharing its invaluable insights and best practices during the Benchmarking activities held on October 25-27, 2023 at Metropolitan Cebu Water District, Cebu City.
Said activity primarily aims to adapt and generate excellent processes and innovations in furtherance to the aim of MTWD to recalibrate and digitize its controls and operations.
The benchmarking activities cover areas pertaining to Legal and Public Relations, Corporate Planning, Internal Audit and Customer Care, Septage Management, certain areas on Geographic Information System and software application relating to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.

MCWD showcased its best practices through series of orientation, lectures, demonstration of its system and control and walkthrough of its internal processes and a site visit to their septage facility. They also put emphasis on putting efforts and focus on the strengths of MCWD as they endeavor in continuously serving more than 200,000 customers-concessionaires from 4 cities and 4 municipalities of Cebu. The competence, strong commitment and dedication of its staff and members of the management under the leadership of General Manager Edgar H. Donoso remain the driving force in providing quality water services despite the challenges it is currently facing.
 
The benchmarking activities was attended by General Manager Engr. Miller C. Tanguilan, CESE, MTWD Board of Directors, Chairperson Engr. Fausta L. Tanguilan, Dir. Teresita Rios, Director Lorna Dimalanta, selected members of the management and staff namely, Ms. Mary Antoinette B. Fermin, Internal Control and Systems Development Division Manager, Atty. Bong Richard M. Tumaliuan, Legal-Acting Division Manager, Ms. Ma. Cristina Furigay, Technical Assistant B, Mr. Maynard Matammu, Senior Corporate Planning Specialist, Ms. Honeylaine F. MTWD further commits to employ and integrate in its processes and operations the advance practices and highly commendable processes MCWD has. This is anchored on the governing principle on the benefit from adopting excellent practices of a Big Brother Water District in order to consistently enhance and upgrade its present services that will benefit communities even beyond its coverage area and the future generations.
