The World Water Day is an international observance which highlights water as the cornerstone for sustainable development and the power of water in transforming people’s lives. Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District celebrates this year’s World Water Day with the theme “Nature for Water” through conducting series of activities. One of these activities is the On-The-Spot Poster Making Contest, an activity which aims to engage students to share their thoughts on the power of water and its effect through the use of their artistic talents.
The On-The-Spot Poster Making Contest was conducted on March 16, 2018 at the Audio-Visual Room, 3rd Floor MTWD Building, Main Avenue, San Gabriel Village, Tuguegarao City. The participants of the event consisted of eleven (11) Grade 9 students from six (6) schools from Tuguegarao and Solana. The affair started at exactly 9’ o clock in the morning. The participants were given two (2) hours to come up with their entry that shall capture the theme “Nature for Water” using the materials provided by the District. The eleven entries were judged by the Department and Division Managers of MTWD using the following criteria: Creativity and Presentation (40%), Originality (30%) and Relevance to the Theme (30%). Before the proclamation of winners, our very own General Manager, Engr. Miller C. Tanguilan, CESE delivered his message for everyone.
The winners for the On -The-Spot Making are as follows: 1st place-Melodee Ayuyang from Cagayan National High School, 2nd place-Dave Christian Castillo-from Tuguegarao City Science High School and 3rd place-Ceejay Paloma from Cagayan National High School. All winners were given cash prizes and certificate of recognition while non-winners were given consolation prizes and certificate of participation.
