MTWD has launched a photography competition inspired by water in all its forms and as a precious resource to be protected and promoted through the powerful medium of the photograph.
EIGHT aspiring photographers from different government agencies in Region II joined the photo contest.
Meanwhile, the panel of judges were Ramoncito Carlo E. Ramirez, Reiniel F. Pasquin and Jazl Sanj Jigz P. Taong all are photography experts from Tuguegarao City. They shared some thoughts and gave pieces of advice to the participants before the competition. The said contest was held at DON DOMINGO PUBLIC MARKET at exactly 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The photos should capture the essence of Filipino’s everyday life and should focus on the theme, “Water and Waste Water.”
Francis Jorque from Cagayan Provincial Information Office (CPIO) hailed as the winner of the photo contest whose masterpiece depicts a child who is about to fetch water for her daily use, unfortunately, however, as she opens the faucet, nothing came out.
Said winner received a prize amounting to P5, 000 cash. Nikko Ballad from COMMISSION ON AUDIT (COA) RO2 and Henson Dela Cruz from the BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION (BFP) garnered the second and third place respectively, receiving P3, 000 for the second place and P 2, 000 for the third place. All other participants received a P500.00 reward as a consolation prize.
