The MTWD Board of Directors attend the 22nd Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) International Conference and Exhibition on May 14-16, 2014 at the Crown Regency Hotel Resort and Convention Center in Boracay, Malay, Aklan with the theme “Business Continuity Amidst Changing Environment.”

PWWA President Edgar C. Lopez in his opening remarks said that the calamities are manifestations of the global warming and climate change that damaged or totally destroyed water supply systems in the affected areas. He then advised that water experts and industries shall continue to produce the best in modern science and technologies to attain business continuity and water sustainability.

Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya Jr., the keynote speaker during the event urged the water sector to try the public-private partnership (PPP) model in the implementation of water supply and sanitation projects. Abaya said it is possible because it has been successfully done in the transportation and communications sector.

The event was participated by the Board of Directors (Dir. Macaria M. Duldulao, Dir. Joseph L. Rios, Dir. Fausta L. Tanguilan, Dir. Lorna L. Dimalanta), General Manager Miller C. Tanguilan and Secretary to the Board Ms. Ma. Cristina Fillomena.
