“Preparation is the key to any effective emergency response.”
The District recognizes the importance of safety in the workplace thus the Management requested assistance from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for the employees to be equipped with basic emergency preparedness skills which are especially essential in times of natural and man-made disasters.
The Fire and Earthquake Drill which is a part of the lined up Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for the year was successfully held last April 8, 2014 at the MTWD Building, San Gabriel Tuguegarao City.
BFP officials responded to the request who had also given lectures and demonstrations headed by INSP Franklin B. Tabingo with his team: FO1 Cristina C. Carolino, FO2 Virginia E. Morgado, FO2 Zozimo C. Malupeng, FO1 Ernesto D. Masiddo, FO1 Pathrick Filip B. Natividad, FO3 Eduardo LP Molina Jr., and FO1 Mark Ray N. Ruma.
The lecturers focused mostly on first aid topics and the proper way of rescuing injured victims in times of disasters. The team of INSP Tabingo made sure that this year’s session would include simulation of the event so that everybody would know what to do in times of emergency.
The fire and Earthquake evacuation Drill followed after a series of lectures. Simulation of the emergency situation included ringing of the emergency alarm, proper evacuation, proper utilization of fire extinguishers and rescue operation for injured participants.
