The Philippine Association of Record Officers and Archivists (PAROA) conducted the Seminar/ Workshop on Managing Records Disposition Processes and Control for Good Governance held at the Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City on April 1-3, 2014.
Speakers during the training were Atty. Conrado Catral, Baguio City Public Prosecutor and Mr. Fernan Dizon Rivera. The latter took his Bachelor of Library and Information Science as well as Master of Library and Information Science degrees from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. The speakers emphasized that every government agency requires an effective Records Disposition program for successful records management as stated in the National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007 (R.A. 9470). Managing recorded information is an important responsibility of every government agency. As the basic administrative tool by which the Government does its work, records are a basic component of each agency’s information resources. Like other resources, they must be managed properly for the agency to function effectively and comply with government laws and regulations.
To represent the District, Ms. Ronadel Camacam, Ms. Erika Castillejo, Mr. Jaime Pascual III, Ms. Lilette R. Tappa, Ms. Marilou Q. Cascolan, and Ms. Narena M. Rillera were sent.
