The Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District (MTWD) conducted barangay orientations in Poblacion 2 and Maguilling for all residents and establishments within the seven covered barangays of Piat, Cagayan. The orientations are primarily aimed at disseminating information on the promotional package offered for application for new water service connections. This package aims to assist the residents to avail of the water services at a lower application cost. The orientations also aim to inform residents about the benefits and accessibility of MTWD’s water services.
Ms. Jocelyn B. De Jesus, Department Manager for Human Resources, Administration, and Finance, welcomed the residents and led the addressing of questions from the community during the open forum. Sammuel A. Aquino facilitated the orientation and shared MTWD’s history and mission.
Ms. Honeylaine F. Flores, head of the Marketing Committee, highlighted the benefits of MTWD water connections including potable drinking water, increased household productivity, and savings. Engr. Jon Jon S. Escalo, on the other hand, discussed water quality and potential hazards. Mr. James Iringan also shared the practice of MTWD specially on the quality of materials used during installation of service connections, skilled plumbers, and 24/7 service availability.
Carmelo Pagulayan and Hazel Ann Fernandez from the Public Assistance Desk outlined the requirements for water service applications, and Jaime S. Pascual III discussed various payment options. Additionally, Mylene Alvarado and Edmun Pasinca from the Piat Sub-Office elaborated on the process of application, installation costs and assistance they can avail at the MTWD Piat Sub-office.
In his closing remarks, Atty. Bong Richard M. Tumaliuan encouraged residents to raise their concerns on their water service connections and assured them of MTWD’s commitment in responding to their needs.
These orientations reflect MTWD’s dedication to improving the quality of life for its customers and expanding access to safe, potable, and affordable water in the covered areas of Piat, Cagayan.
