The Metropolitan Tuguegarao Water District through its Gender and Development Focal Point System, initiated a Seminar Workshop with a topic on Gender and Environment: Climate Change Awareness, Mitigation and Adaptation at Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel, Subic, Zambales on July 13-16, 2022 and July 20-23, 2022.

The aforementioned activity was attended by employees and members of the Board of Directors of the District and was facilitated by Ms. Reina Olivar, resource person and Gender and Development Specialist and Consultant.

The workshop seminar focused on the significant roles of every man and woman in the preservation of our natural resources and their obligation in helping mitigate climate change. This also put emphasis on the organizational mandate of MTWD in strengthening its efforts to safeguard its maintained watershed and its advocacy in planting more trees especially in communities within the coverage area of the District.

Before the seminar-workshop, participants were asked to answer a pretest workshop evaluation to measure their awareness of the different GAD-related laws and policies in the country. Post-test activity was also conducted after the participants presented their finished outputs on the topics given to them. During the course of the seminar, workshops were conducted every after session which every employee actively participated. Employees were able to express their thoughts as they share their experiences and life learnings on a given topic and situation. The seminar workshop also comprised of series of activities that aims to strengthen the working relationship of the employees and build harmonious relationship with colleagues. Further, its objective is to strengthen their purpose and goals while they are performing their functions and duties and strengthen trust and confidence to others while recognizing each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

Finally, GM Miller traditionally delivered his heart-warming message as he always impresses upon every employee the importance of every individual’s functions and duties. He also congratulated everyone for actively participating in the recently concluded seminar workshop especially to the committee members who prepared and helped achieve the objectives of the seminar workshop. Also, Engr. Fausta L. Tanguilan, Chairperson of MTWD Board of Directors further expressed her joy as she commends everyone for always showing enthusiasm and support in every activity of the District. She further emphasized that organizational roles create impact while touching the lives of every customers-concessionaires through efficient and effective delivery of quality service to the public we serve.
